Sustainable February Cleaning

The New Year is a time for renewal after the festive period, and we don't know about you but for us, we like to give our homes a good clean and reset to go into the start of February with a clear home and a clear mind.
Whilst keeping our homes and salons hygienic and clean is essential, we also need to acknowledge the detrimental effects our habits, cleaning products and methods might have on the environment.

Here we are going to highlight our favourite ways to clean sustainably...
Reusable Cleaning Products
Next time you're getting ready for a cleaning spree, consider reaching for reusable cleaning tools instead of disposable ones like paper towels. Here's a fun fact: according to the EPA, most of our waste and carbon footprint comes from single-use items like wipes, paper towels, and plastic bin bags. In fact, every year, over 300 million tons of plastic end up in landfills worldwide.
How about swapping out these culprits with more earth-friendly alternatives? Reusable cloths, towels, and mops make excellent stand-ins and are just as effective in getting the job done.
Did you know that our Navy Dolly Cloth is the perfect reusable companion?!

Repair Don't Rebuy
Before you rush to replace old or broken items in your home, why not give them a second glance? That appliance that's on the fritz or the furniture piece that's seen better days may just need a little tender loving care!
Fixing what's fixable can do wonders for planet Earth by preventing unnecessary waste from ending up in landfills. Not to mention, it's a great chance to put on your DIY hat and let your creativity shine.
*Pssst, have you heard of the up cycling trend? Even though Navy Deluxe Candle's have over 40 hours of burn time, at least once you've experienced the joy of Navy, you can reuse the candle pot later on to store trinkets!

Limit Water Usage
There are simple ways we can reduce water usage while we're dazzling our homes. How about using eco-friendly cleaning products that are concentrated and biodegradable? These impressive cleaners don't need as much water to do their job effectively and let's make it a habit to turn off those taps in between our cleaning sprees. Try keeping your showers to five minutes. It's all about being quick, efficient, and saving our blue planet! Laundry day? Wait until you have a full load before running the machine. Your clothes get clean, and you save water. And for those with dishwashers, it turns out they're not just convenient; they're water-savers too. Did you know dishwashers use only about 4 gallons of water per cycle, while hand-washing can use up to a whopping 20 gallons? Every drop we save is a gift to our earth.
